Qinghui Guarden (中国十大名园——清晖园)

Qinghui garden is selected as one of the top ten gardens in China as well as one of the four famous gardens in Guangdong. In Ming Dynasty, it was once the residence of Huang shijun, No. 1 scholar in the national examination. Then it was sold to Long Yingshi, a graduated scholar in Qing Dynasty. Qinghui garden is of great architectural aesthetic value.

The ancient Qinghui Garden is located in the Qinghui Road of Daliang Town. It was the site of “Tianzhang Pavilion” and “Ling a Wu Pavilion” during the Ming Dynasty and was redecorated by Long Memorial during the Qing Dynasty. The layout of the garden is special, incorporating characteristics of the gardens in south of the Changjiang River and of gardens in South China. It is one of the four classical gardens of Guangdong together with the Keyuan Garden in Donguan, the Yuyin Garden in Panyu, and the Liang Garden in Foshan.

Qinghui Garden has an intense and serene location. Inside the garden, hills, water, flowers and trees are intermingled with each other with winding corridors and paths laced between them. The distinct features of towers, pavilions and pagodas stand out too. The garden displays many different types of architecture such as the Octagonal Pond, Chengqi Pagoda, Bixi Hut, Boat Hall, Bamboo Hall, Lion Hill, Guiji Accommodation, Bihuasheng Hall, Huabeng Pagoda and Jieyin Study. Winding terraces and twisting paths connect these buildings to each other. The main structure of the Qinghui Garden incorporates the key characteristics of architecture in Suzhou and Hangzhou. The gardens were designed to abide by the rule that everything in the garden should attribute to an integral whole and should be in harmony with the environment.
